Count Down To The Holidays

As we embrace the holiday season, there is so much to do in preparation for welcoming friends and families. Preparing our homes to welcome friends and family are part of the festive season. At Flex Property, our jolly elves are preparing for your visit with extra care. Our holiday season as hosts of Flex Property Management needs to be organized to support your holiday cheer. Following a previous post, we looked deeper into our stocking of tips and tricks to support seamless holiday cheer. Shout out the following checklist…

1. Remember your teammates, colleagues, friends, and families are working towards a similar goal of reaching that special day of celebration with you. Show your gratitude to them by extending a helping hand and giving a voice to how grateful you are to them daily.

Keep your attitude about gratitude!

2. Tackle deep cleaning – one day at a time. Find ONE room you want to showcase as your warm and inviting meeting space. This is the space where you and your loved ones find solace in the daily workings of life. Engage your family and friends in a holiday grime buster routine. Provide the cleaning supplies and tools to make this a fun day of memories recounting funny stories about community, friendship, and family.

3. While tidying and cleaning this special space – declutter! Have a fun fashion show of items that make the runway, items destined for reusing and regifting (be careful you don’t make the naughty list with this one when creating an ugly sweater moment), and items for recycling. Organize an online clothing, toy, furniture swap to reduce items in the landfill.

4. Organize your fridge and pantry. Take stock of the food items you may want to share with family and friends. Seek out recipes using what you already have in stock. Then develop a grocery/marketing shopping list that keeps food waste to a minimum. While shopping

consider items you wish to donate to the food bank to support our community. Drop off food items at

Ottawa Food Bank Warehouse at 2001 Bantree St, Ottawa, ON K1B 4X3

Centretown Community Food Center at 370 Catherine St, Ottawa, ON K1R 5T5

Pavilion Food Bank at 14 Tapiola Crescent, Ottawa, ON K1T 1W9

5. Declutter photos on your camera/cell phone/iPad.

Check for duplicates of photos and delete them now before the Grinch sends messages about your iCloud storage reaching capacity. Make room for the beautiful images you will capture this holiday season. Above all else, don’t get your tinsel in a tangle!
